Science with Chris Smith: Melanoma

Almost 14,000 people have been diagnosed with Melanoma this year — and out of those, almost two thousand have died.

And in the last ten years or so, the rates of malignant melanoma have doubled worldwide.

But our ability to cure the disease has remained pretty dismal.

Scientists in the US and Germany have developed a personalised immune therapy for skin cancer — which could be good news for us here in Australia.
